Baan Jasmines small contribution to supporting sustainability
& community on koh samui island
Linen and towels
We like to preserve water on the island because it is in short supply being a small tropical island. Our housekeeper changes bed linen, pool and beach towels weekly. If guests would like their housekeeper to visit more often please let us know.
rainwater
We conserve this from monsoon rains by feeding it from the guttering back into our new water tanks we had installed in 2024. We had a filter fitted to our tank last year so the water can be used by the villa.
salt chlorination swimming pool
We installed this new system and as a result we are now using less island water to top up our beautiful Bali stone swimming pool. The pH salt chlorination system is kinder to the skin, doesn’t cause itchy eyes like chlorinated pools and also the environment.
sunscreen in the sea
We recommend guests to wear SPF sun protective rash guards. Prior to travelling choose coral safe sunscreen which does not harm coral when swimming or snorkelling. Please ask us for more information.
Cafe king of bread(KOB)
This wonderful bakery 2 minutes walk away is also a cafe serving delicious breakfasts and meals. We purchase our bakery products from this bakery close to the villa. This in turn supports this local business and reduces packaging and car/bike emissions from driving to larger supermarkets. Cafe KOB also at Bangrak, Nathon & Lamai.
Filter coffee
We purchase large bags of filter coffee to decant into our containers thus reduce packaging and waste.
samui coconut soap, body lotion. citronella & sleep spray
10 years ago we sourced products from Pepes business for the villa. Pepe makes his products on the island from Samui virgin coconut plantations and mountain rain water! The coconut fragrance is stunning. Let us know if you would like to purchase any to take home.
koh samui nathon Hospital childrens’ ward & Pariah koh samui dog rescue & shelter
We make regular donations to both these charities
SISTERS ON SAMUI
